Slip and falls are one of the most common hazards in the workplace. Employees working in a fast food chain may find themselves slip and fall due to a slippery floor or grease. Even the mechanics at auto repair shops can slip and fall because of automotive fluids on the floor. Those who are working at offices are not safe from slip and falls either. Simply put, wherever you are or whatever your job is, you are always at risk to slip and fall.

As such it’s imperative that you know what to do should you slip and fall in your office, in a fast food chain, in a shop, or wherever you are working. Here’s what you need to do in case you are injured because of slip and fall accident.

Seek Medical Attention

The first thing you need to do if you are injured because of a slip and fall accident in the workplace is to seek medical attention right away. Don’t worry about the medical bills or possible absences from work after the accident because your employer will get you covered for that.

All employers are required by the state to have worker’s compensation benefits. This will help employees or workers who got injured while working and give them compensation for their losses. The insurance will cover the medical expenses and lost wages of the employee because of the slip and fall accident. There are couple of factors to consider though before you can be eligible for worker’s compensation insurance.
